Week 2 of P90X3 Complete!

My selfies have been exceptionally boring this time around… so I’ve decided to post weekly updates lest you BLOCK me from shear overload of the same damn picture every morning. 🙂  P90X is awesome in that I can do it in the comfort of my own home, without needing special equipment.  But that also makes for unvaried photo ops. Haha.

Week 2 is DOWN!

I’m feeling pretty great about P90X so far.  I already feel stronger compared to Week 1.  My scale doesn’t seem to be moving in any exceptional way, but I’ve also eaten a couple of pretty serious meals the last few days.  I also feel like I might be fighting off a little sickness bug. We’ll see.

As I’ve mentioned already, I’ve tried P90X before.  This time, I know I’m coming to it in a much better head space, but I really think they’ve adopted a lot of moves form other workout programs that I already like doing.  I resisted the first version of P90X  because it seemed like a lot of straight up “old school” gym stuff like jumping jacks, pushups, lunges, and lifting weights.  Now, there is plenty of that stuff in P90X3 but it’s mostly variations on that stuff, so far.  I’m seeing a lot of yoga-like moves, for example, that incorporate a little extra push-up time in there.  I’m seeing some favorites from my Cardio Barre and Tracy Anderson classes folded in there and that makes me happy.

I also think I was 20 lbs heavier the last time I attempted P90X.  I’m certain that plays apart in my changed attitude.  A lot of the moves felt “impossible” before, whereas now they all feel possible…  they just range from “I’ll be able to do this better in 90 days” to “by the end of 90 days I might actually be able to DO this move.”  🙂

Only 30 Minutes.

This is what really peaked my interest this time around.  I’ve got 30 minutes.  You’ve got 30 minutes.    We can generally find 30 minutes!  And, wow, it’s an intense 30 minutes.  I’m usually only barely able to move at the end of it.  My boyfriend and I are doing the workouts together these past two weeks, and we can’t really talk at the end of it.  It’s just a lot of panting and sweating and laying around on the floor.

Anyway, on to week 3!  It’s not too late to join in!  Get proactive and survive the holidays!
